Stories of Resilience and Self-Worth
by Dr. Portia Shipman, D. Hum
"As we grow older, we grow up, but I began to grow down. It was probably most evident to me during my first marriage."

"I carry my mother’s strength, her resilience, and her fire, but I also carry this lesson: To truly leave a legacy, you must make sure that no one you love is left behind."

Her dedication to ending domestic violence also led to the establishment of the Sherri Denese Jackson Foundation for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, an organization committed to education, advocacy, and community support.
Today, through Portia Shipman Enterprises, LLC, Dr. Shipman continues to lead initiatives that combine business, advocacy, and humanitarian service to make a meaningful and lasting impact. Whether championing elder care, domestic violence prevention, or social justice, her mission remains centered on uplifting individuals, strengthening communities, and inspiring hope.
